Superior – Superior Junior and Senior High Students, and, the family and friends who love them, should take heed of this article, which is offered as a means of making their entry into the new school year as painless as possible.
School begins on Tuesday, July 28. Pre-registration will be held on Thursday, July 23, noon – 1 p.m. for Seniors, 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. for Juniors and 3 p.m. – 4 p.m. for Sophomores. Then on Friday, July 24, 7th and 8th graders pre-register at 10 a.m. – noon, followed by Freshman at 1 p.m.- 2 p.m.
To register, students need to bring a copy of their birth certificate, current immunization record, proof of residency such as a utility bill or rental agreement and picture ID for their parent/ guardian. Any students interested in participating in extracurricular activities are required to have a current sports physical on file, before tryouts. Forms for the sports physicals are available in the junior-senior high school office.
To help you plan your wardrobe for the school year, here is a list of what not to wear while on campus: do not wear spaghetti straps, thin strapped tank tops, cutaway tops and vests, low cut tops, crop tops, halter tops, off the shoulder or cut out shoulder tops, sleeveless tops and rompers, open back or cut tops, short skirts or short shorts.. Of course, this applies to dresses, as well.
Also inappropriate for school wear: pajamas, ripped clothing, saggy pants, trench coats, undershirts worn in place of overshirts, wide arm tank tops, hats or head coverings that have not received prior approval from an administrator, body armor, and spiked or chained clothing or jewelry, clothing or jewelry with inappropriate messages or pictures allowed. For the purposes of school wear, inappropriate messages or images include, but are not necessarily limited to, swear words, depictions of nudity, references to drugs, violence or gangs. When in doubt, ask an administrator before wearing the garment or accessory.
