Superior School District announces community meeting

The Superior Unified School District Board, along with the staff and administration, invites you to attend a community planning session for the school district.

Earlier this month the board held a retreat to begin strategizing a long range plan for the school district. From that meeting they determined the next step was to host a community meeting for the community to provide input on a long range vision for the schools. The process and meeting is called “Superior 20/20 a Vision for the Future.” Those participating in the meeting will have an opportunity to be part of a green light thinking session, which means there are no limits to the ideas presented.

The meeting will also serve as an opportunity for the community to provide input on the qualities they would like to see in a school superintendent. A few weeks ago Mr. Guzman announced that he would be resigning from the district at the end of June. The board is expected to accept his resignation at the next board meeting on Apr. 3.

The meeting will be held on Monday, Apr. 8, 2013. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the Superior Junior Senior High School Multipurpose Room. The board will begin the selection process for a new superintendent following the acceptance of Guzman’s resignation.
