Superior Police Report – May 31, 2017

  According to state law, police may arrest suspected offenders by two methods. The suspect may be physically taken into the department and booked into jail, or the arresting officer may write a citation and release the suspect to appear in court later. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Only criminal citations are listed. All damage amounts are estimates.

  Items are given to The Superior Sun by the Superior Police Department and reflect information available at the time the report is compiled.

  Activity listed from May 4-24.

May 4

  Terrence Zavala, 49, Superior, was arrested in the area of Western Ave. and U.S. Hwy. 60 on a probation violation warrant and a failure to appear warrant, both issued out of Pinal County Sheriff’s Office. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail in Florence.

May 5

  An accident without injuries was reported in the area of U.S. Hwy. 60 and Kiser St. The driver was cited.

  Corey R. Gohn, 30, Globe, was arrested in the area of Airport Rd. and U.S. Hwy. 60 on a warrant for possession of narcotics issued out of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  An accident with injuries was reported in the area of Panther Dr. and U.S. Hwy. 60. The driver was cited for driving while under the influence of alcohol/slightest degree (DUI).

May 6

  James A. Royse, 27, Miami, was arrested in the area of Stone Ave. and Valentine St. on warrants for failure to appear and child support, both issued out of Gila County Sheriff’s Office. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  Fire was reported in the 300 block of Crowe St.

  Theft of a vehicle was reported in the 800 block of U.S. Hwy. 60.

  Monet Y. Lebron, 35, Superior, was arrested in the 700 block of Main St. and was charged with driving on a suspended license. She was cited and released.

May 7

  Fire was reported twice in the 300 block of Crowe St.

May 8

  Criminal damage was reported in the 800 block of U.S. Hwy. 60.

May 9

  Robert L. Cox, 36, Superior, was arrested in the area of Panther Dr. and U.S. Hwy. 60 and was charged with driving on a suspended license. He was cited and released.

  Jerome J. Palacio, 57, Queen Valley, was arrested in the area of U.S. Hwy. 60 and Old Phoenix Rd. and was charged with possession of dangerous drugs and driving on a suspended license. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

May 10

  Robert C. Ochoa, 51, Superior, was arrested in the area of U.S. Hwy. 60 and Stone Ave. and was charged with aggravated assault/DV (domestic violence) and assault/DV. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

May 11

  Kyle Rooney, 21, Superior, was arrested in the area of Santa Rita St. and Empalme St. and was charged with driving on a suspended license. He was cited and released.

  Fire was reported in the area of S.R. 177 and Ray Rd.

May 12

  Criminal damage was reported in the area of U.S. Hwy. 60.

May 16

  Russell W. French, 35, Superior, was arrested in the area of Valentine St. and Belmont Ave. and was charged with assault/DV. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

May 17

  Criminal damage was reported in the zero block of Arnett Dr.

  Theft was reported in the 200 block of Garrott Ave.,

  An accident without injuries was reported at milepost 225 on U.S. Hwy. 60.

May 18

  Burglary was reported in the 300 block of Main St.

May 19

  An accident with injuries was reported in the area of U.S. Hwy. 60 and Panther Dr. The driver was cited.

May 20

  Erika B. Reyes, 36, Superior, was arrested in the 200 block of Kellner Ave. and was charged with disorderly conduct, disorderly conduct/DV, harassment/DV and threatening/intimidation. She was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  Theft was reported in the 1100 block of U.S. Hwy. 60.

May 21

  Burglary was reported in the 800 block of U.S. Hwy. 60.

May 22

  McKinley T. Henry, 25, Phoenix, was arrested in the 800 block of U.S. Hwy. 60 and was charged with endangerment/DV, assault/DV and disorderly conduct/DV. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  Burglary was reported in the 700 block of Simpson St.

May 23

  Ryan Heidrich Jr., 38, Superior, was arrested on a trespassing warrant issued out of Pima County Sheriff’s Office. He paid the bond and was released.

  Christian J. Carmelo, 35, Hayden, was arrested in the 100 block of Stansberry St. and was charged with assault/DV. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

May 24

  Isaac Bello, 55, Superior, was arrested in the area of Stone Ave. and Gibbs St. and was charged with having an open container of alcohol. He was cited and released.

  Calls not listed include traffic stop (71), disturbance (11), agency assist (9), alarm drop (13), welfare check (11), information (19), 911 hang up (2), medical (5), animal complaint (5), suspicious activity (5), fraud (1), civil matter (5), utility problem (2), neighbor problem (1), field interview (2), citizen assist (3), abandoned vehicle (1), threats/intimidation (2), found property (2) and traffic hazard (4).

  Superior Police want to remind drivers to obey all the speed limits in the construction zone on U.S. Hwy. 60. ADOT is paying the Superior Police to do extra patrol in the construction zones to enforce speed limits during working hours. Fines are double in the construction zone while workers are present.

The Superior Police and Fire Departments have contracted all dispatch services to the Pinal County Sheriff (POLICE) and Florence PD (FIRE). As a result of these changes, you need to know some new phone numbers.
