Superior Police Report – May 30, 2018

  According to state law, police may arrest suspected offenders by two methods. The suspect may be physically taken into the department and booked into jail, or the arresting officer may write a citation and release the suspect to appear in court later. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Only criminal citations are listed. All damage amounts are estimates.

  Items are given to The Superior Sun by the Superior Police Department and reflect information available at the time the report is compiled.

May 10

  Michael J. Denogean, 32, Superior, was arrested in the area of Stansberry Ave. and Main St. and was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended license. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail in Florence.

  Christina C. Hernandez, 58, Superior, was arrested in the area of Main St. and Hwy. 60 and was charged with driving on a suspended license. She was cited and released.

May 12

  Michael J. Contreras, 39, Superior, was arrested in the 500 block of Kiser St. on a failure to appear warrant issued out of the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office. He was also charged with possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  David A. Otero, 34, Superior, was arrested in the 500 block of Kiser St. and was charged with hindering prosecution and false reporting. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  Brian K. Guerrero, 54, Superior, was arrested in the area of Hill St. and Terrace Dr. on two Pinal County Sheriff’s Office failure to appear warrants. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  Assault was reported in the 600 block of Porphyry St.

May 15

  Criminal damage was reported in the 600 block of Sonora St.

  Nancy Y. Huerta, 56, was arrested in the 400 block of Picket Post Dr. and was charged with threatening/intimidation and attempted endangerment. She was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

May 16

  An accident on private property was reported in the 1100 block of Hwy. 60.

  A narcotics offense was reported in the area of Porphyry St. and Stansberry Ave.

  Daniel R. Alvarado, 52, Superior, was arrested in the 100 block of Lobb Ave. on a failure to appear warrant issued by the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  Ernest D. Pino, 59, Superior, was arrested in the 700 block of Sonora St. on a theft of a means of transportation warrant and child support warrant, both issued out of the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office. Additionally, he was charged with possession of dangerous drugs, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  Richard R. Manriquez, 54, Superior, was arrested in the 700 block of Sonora St. and was charged with hindering prosecution. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

May 18

  Theft was reported in the 100 block of Lime St.

  Alan J. Arriola Fox, 25, Superior, was arrested in the area of Stone Ave. and Ray St. and was charged with having an aggressive dog. He was cited and released.

May 19

  Burglary was reported in the zero block of Pinal Ave.

  Jorge L. Sanchez, 48, Superior, was arrested and charged with having an open container of alcohol and driving on a suspended license. He was cited and released.

  Robert A. Gutierrez, 28, Superior, was arrested in the 800 block of Western Ave. on a warrant for failure to appear issued out of the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  Renee Bookout, 27, Globe, was arrested in the 800 block of Western Ave. and was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. She was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  John M. Spillane, 28, Superior, was arrested in the area of Main St. and Stone Ave. and was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was cited and released.

May 24

  Steve W. McCaslin, 61, Superior, was arrested in the 1100 block of Hwy. 60 and was charged with driving on a suspended license. He was cited and released.

  Assault was reported in the area of Stone Ave.

May 25

  Theft was reported in the 400 block of Main St.

  Thomas P. Lopez, 44, was arrested in the 400 block of Copper St. and was charged with false reporting to law enforcement. He was cited and released.

May 26

  Jimmie Carroll, 24, McNary, was arrested in the area of Hill St. and Stone Ave. and was charged with driving on a suspended license. He was also arrested on a felony failure to appear warrant issued out of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  Frances E. Magallanez, 73, Superior, was arrested in the 1100 block of Western Ave. and was charged with assault/DV (domestic violence) and disorderly conduct/DV. She was cited and released.

May 27

  Saul R. Bueno, 44, Superior, was arrested in the 400 block of Highlands Dr. and was charged with allowing a person under the age of 21 to consume alcohol. He was cited and released.

May 28

  Samuel H. Babcock, 24, Mesa, was arrested in the 700 block of Kiser St. and was charged with burglary and criminal damage. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

May 29

  A sex offense was reported in the 600 block of Main St.

May 30

  Attempted burglary was reported in the 100 block of Neary Ave.

  Calls not listed include traffic stop (60), disturbance (12), citizen assist (3), information (20), welfare check (8), suspicious activity (10), civil matter (2), trespassing (6), animal complaint (7), alarm drop (6), fire (1), found property (2), agency assist (12), medical (9), attempt to locate (1), field interview (9), 911 hang-up (1), traffic hazard (2), victim rights notification (1), utility problem (2), abandoned vehicle (1), fraud (1) and threatening/harassment (7).

  The Superior Police and Fire Departments have contracted all dispatch services to the Pinal County Sheriff (POLICE) and Florence PD (FIRE). As a result of these changes, you need to know some new phone numbers.
