Superior Police Report – June 7, 2017

  According to state law, police may arrest suspected offenders by two methods. The suspect may be physically taken into the department and booked into jail, or the arresting officer may write a citation and release the suspect to appear in court later. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Only criminal citations are listed. All damage amounts are estimates.

  Items are given to The Superior Sun by the Superior Police Department and reflect information available at the time the report is compiled.

May 25

  Theft was reported in the 500 block of Kiser St.

  Steve W. McCaslin, 60, Superior, was arrested in the area of Gorham St. and Belmont Ave. on a warrant for probation violation issued by the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail in Florence.

May 26

  Burglary was reported in the 300 block of Palo Verde Dr.

  Theft was reported in the 700 block of U.S. Hwy. 60.

  Ruby K. Contreras, 36, Superior, was arrested in the 100 block of Gorham St. on four failure to appear warrants issued by the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office. She was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

May 27

  A narcotics violation was reported in the area of Sunset and Palo Verde drives.

  Chantelle Wernett, 18, Superior, was arrested in the area of Church Ave. and Gibbs St. and was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal damage/DV (domestic violence) and possession of alcohol by a person under the age of 21. She was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  Charlene Evans, 46, Superior, was arrested in the area of Church Ave. and Gibbs St. on a contempt of court warrant issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety. She was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  Theft was reported in the 1100 block of U.S. Hwy. 60.

May 28

  Theft was reported in the 500 block of Kiser St.

May 29

  Beatrice Sanchez, 44, Mesa, was arrested at milepost 225 on U.S. Hwy. 60 on a felony larceny warrant issued by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. She was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  Kristina Y. Barrett, 28, Phoenix, was arrested at milepost 225 on U.S. Hwy. 60 and was charged with driving on a suspended license. She was cited and released.

May 30

  Arthur S. Ridenhour, 38, Florence, was arrested in the 1100 block of U.S. Hwy. 60 and was charged with driving on a suspended license. He was cited and released.

  Margarita Rodriguez-Gomez, 52, Gilbert, was arrested at milepost 224 on U.S. Hwy. 60 on a felony warrant for fraud issued out of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. She was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

May 31

  Robert Magana, 34, Globe, was arrested in the area of Valentine St. and Belmont Ave. on an Arizona Department of Corrections felony warrant for failure to report. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  Calls not listed include traffic stop (17), disturbance (5), agency assist (6), alarm drop (8), information (4), medical (1), animal complaint (3), fraud (1), found property (1), field interview (1), citizen assist (1), trespassing (2), abandoned vehicle/parking violation (2) and traffic hazard (1).

  Superior Police want to remind drivers to obey all the speed limits in the construction zone on U.S. Hwy. 60. ADOT is paying the Superior Police to do extra patrol in the construction zones to enforce speed limits during working hours. Fines are double in the construction zone while workers are present.

The Superior Police and Fire Departments have contracted all dispatch services to the Pinal County Sheriff (POLICE) and Florence PD (FIRE). As a result of these changes, you need to know some new phone numbers.
