  According to state law, police may arrest suspected offenders by two methods. The suspect may be physically taken into the department and booked into jail, or the arresting officer may write a citation and release the suspect to appear in court later. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Only criminal citations are listed. All damage amounts are estimates.

  Items are given to The Superior Sun by the Superior Police Department and reflect information available at the time the report is compiled.

Dec. 28

  Stephen D. Martinez, 61, Superior, was arrested in the area of Belmont Ave. and Sunset Dr. and was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of dangerous drugs. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail in Florence.

  Sam G. Martinez, 63, Superior, was arrested in the area of Belmont Ave. and Sunset Dr. and was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

Dec. 29

  Assault was reported in the 200 block of Magma Ave.

Dec. 30

  Kristal N. Cardenas, 32, Superior, was arrested in the 900 block of Western Ave. on a Pinal County Sheriff’s Office felony grand jury warrant. She was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

Dec. 31

  Assault was reported in the 100 block of Gorham St.

Jan. 1

  Earlene M. Gutierrez, 20, Superior, was arrested in the area of Stansberry Ave. and Main St. on two failure to appear warrants issued by the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office. She was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  Theft was reported in the 100 block of Richard Ave.

Jan. 2

  Stanley A. Sanchez, 55, Phoenix, was arrested at milepost 224 on Hwy. 60 and was charged with driving on a suspended license. He was cited and released.

Jan. 3

  Regina M. Labonte, 56, Superior, was arrested in the area of Main St. and Hwy. 60 and was charged with driving on a suspended license. She was cited and released.

Jan. 7

  Sara Ingram, 33, Superior, was arrested in the 100 block of Porphyry St. and was charged with aggravated assault/DV (domestic violence). She was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

Jan. 8

  Cynthia L. Moore, 56, Superior, was arrested in the area of Ray St. and Belmont Ave. on  a Pinal County Sheriff’s Office felony probation violation warrant. She was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

Jan. 9

  Christopher D. Derhammer, 24, Top of the World, was arrested in the 1100 block of Hwy. 60 and was charged with driving on a suspended license. He was cited and released.

  Calls not listed include traffic stop (44), disturbance (9), agency assist (4), information (9), welfare check (2), suspicious activity (5), field interview (4), alarm drop (7), civil matter (4), citizen assist (1), fire/smoke (2), animal complaint (5), harassment (1), victim’s rights notification (2), attempt to locate (2), fireworks/illegal shooting (2), city code violation (1), fraud (1) and neighbor problem (2).

The Superior Police and Fire Departments have contracted all dispatch services to the Pinal County Sheriff (POLICE) and Florence PD (FIRE). As a result of these changes, you need to know some new phone numbers.
