Superior Police Report

According to state law, police may arrest suspected offenders by two methods. The suspect may be physically taken into the department and booked into jail, or the arresting officer may write a citation and release the suspect to appear in court later. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Only criminal citations are listed. All damage amounts are estimates.

Items are given to The Superior Sun by the Superior Police Department and reflect information available at the time the report is compiled.

April 18

Ernest Villaverde, 40, Superior, was arrested on a warrant issued out of Superior.

April 19

Theft was reported to police at the SPD station.

Burglary was reported in the 200 block of Kellner.

Burglary was reported in the 200 block of Kellner.

Theft was reported in the 500 block of Highway 60.

Xavier Padilla, 22, Superior, was arrested on a warrant issued out of Superior. He was also charged with possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A possible liquor violation was reported in the area of Highway 60.

April 20

Theft was reported in the 500 block of Highway 60.

Theft was reported in the 200 block of Copper.

April 22

Theft was reported in the zero block of San Juan.

Calls not listed include four suspicious activity reports, five alarm drops, five civil matters, one traffic hazard, two fraud reports, two information reports, 23 traffic stops, three 911 hang-up calls, six disturbances, one welfare check, two utility problems, three animal complaints, two found property reports and one attempt to locate.

Citizens are reminded to call Silent Witness at 1-800-358-INFO, Crime Stop at 689-5611 or the Information Tip Line at 520-827-0065 if they have information that may help the police department in solving a crime.
