Superior Police Report

According to state law, police may arrest suspected offenders by two methods. The suspect may be physically taken into the department and booked into jail, or the arresting officer may write a citation and release the suspect to appear in court later. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Only criminal citations are listed. All damage amounts are estimates.

Items are given to The Superior Sun by the Superior Police Department and reflect information available at the time the report is compiled.

April 11

A possible sex offense was reported in the area of Palo Verde.

Criminal damage was reported in the area of Crowe.

April 12

Criminal damage was reported in the 800 block of Wilhoyt.

A runaway juvenile was reported in the 1000 block of Belmont.

Frank Lopez, Superior, was arrested on warrants issued out of Pinal County and Casa Grande. He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

April 13

An accident was reported in the area of Belmont and Ray.

Theft was reported in the 500 block of Highway 60.

April 15

A possible burglary was reported in the 900 block of Church.

April 16

Theft was reported in the 200 block of Main St.

Calls not listed include 22 traffic stops, two found property reports, four alarm drops, one attempt to locate, one victim notification, seven disturbances, three medical calls, four animal complaints, one parking violation, one information report, one civil matter, three suspicious activity reports, two agency assists, three welfare checks, one 911 hang-up and two citizen assists.

Citizens are reminded to call Silent Witness at 1-800-358-INFO, Crime Stop at 689-5611 or the Information Tip Line at 520-827-0065 if they have information that may help the police department in solving a crime.
