Superior Police Report

According to state law, police may arrest suspected offenders by two methods. The suspect may be physically taken into the department and booked into jail, or the arresting officer may write a citation and release the suspect to appear in court later. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Only criminal citations are listed. All damage amounts are estimates.

June 12

Amy M. Borg, 45, Superior, was arrested on a failure to appear warrant issued out of the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office. She was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail in Florence.

Fire was reported at milepost 224 on Hwy. 60, Superior.

Ignacio R. Montano, 30, Superior, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license and reckless driving. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

June 13

Assault was reported in the area of Sunset Dr. and Belmont Ave.

June 14

John W. Salas, 42, Superior, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct-domestic violence (DV) and threatening/intimidation-DV. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

Burglary was reported in the 100 block of Arnett Dr.

June 15

A hit and run accident was reported in the 800 block of Western Ave.

Criminal damage was reported in the 400 block of Highlands Dr.

June 16

Stephanie A. Armenta, 29, Superior, was arrested on six failure to appear warrants issued out of the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office. She was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

June 17

An accident without injuries was reported in the area of Hwy. 60 and the Queen Creek Tunnel.

Robert A. Howell, 60, Superior, was arrested on a failure to appear warrant issued out of the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

June 18

Christopher J. Escovedo, 35, Superior, was arrested and charged with driving on a suspended license and resisting arrest. He was cited and released.

Fire was reported in the 400 block of Picket Post Dr.

Fire was reported in the 100 block of Lobb Ave.

Robert L. Cox, 35, Superior, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. He was cited and released.

Calls not listed include traffic stop (17), information (3), suspicious activity (2), animal complaint (2), alarm drop (2), agency assist (1), citizen assist (1), civil matter (2), welfare check (5), traffic hazard (1), 911 hang-up (3), disturbance (2) and attempt to locate (1).

Citizens are reminded to call Silent Witness at 1-800-358-INFO, Crime Stop at 689-5611 or the Information Tip Line at 520-827-0065 if they have information that may help the police department in solving a crime.

The Superior Police and Fire Departments have contracted all dispatch services to the Pinal County Sheriff (POLICE) and Florence PD (FIRE). As a result of these changes, you need to know some new phone numbers.
