Superior Police Report

According to state law, police may arrest suspected offenders by two methods. The suspect may be physically taken into the department and booked into jail, or the arresting officer may write a citation and release the suspect to appear in court later. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Only criminal citations are listed. All damage amounts are estimates.

Items are given to The Superior Sun by the Superior Police Department and reflect information available at the time the report is compiled.

Feb. 26

Larry Pacheco, 33, Superior, was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic violence (DV), assault-DV and threatening/intimidation-DV. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail in Florence.

Feb. 27

Child abuse was reported in the 100 block of Carney St.

Assault was reported in the 1500 block of Sunset Dr.

Assault was reported in the 100 block of Arnett Dr.

Feb. 28

An accident with injuries was reported in the area of Hwy. 177 and Sunset Dr. Joseph D. Salcido, 48, Superior, was arrested and charged with permitting an unauthorized minor to drive without a valid license. He was cited and released.

March 1

Tiffany Creager, 38, Kearny, was arrested and charged with theft of services and unlawful use of a license. She was cited and released.

Frank Arriola, 83, Superior, was arrested and charged with assault-DV. He was cited and released.

Larry Pacheco, 33, Superior, was arrested on a failure to appear warrant issued out of Superior. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

March 2

Theft was reported in the 800 block of Western Ave.

An accident without injuries was reported in the area of Gibbs St. and Stone Ave. Paul J. Hernandez, 39, Superior, was arrested and charged with driving on a suspended license. He was cited and released.

March 3

Theft was reported in the 900 block of Western Ave.

March 5

Michael J. Contreras, 26, Superior, was arrested on a child support warrant issued out of Maricopa. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

Jennifer Armenta, 32, Superior, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation. She was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

Calls not listed include welfare check (3), disturbance (8), traffic stop (9), information (5), agency assist (3), animal complaint (1), citizen assist (3), civil matter (1), alarm drop (3), harassment (1), 911 hang-up (1), suspicious activity (2), attempt to locate (1) and fire (1).

Citizens are reminded to call Silent Witness at 1-800-358-INFO, Crime Stop at 689-5611 or the Information Tip Line at 520-827-0065 if they have information that may help the police department in solving a crime.

The Superior Police and Fire Departments have contracted all dispatch services to the Pinal County Sheriff (POLICE) and Florence PD (FIRE). As a result of these changes, you need to know some new phone numbers.
