Superior Optimist Club to host fundraisers

The Superior Optimist Club will be hosting two fundraisers in October. On Oct. 11 the club will host a cornhole tournament to benefit the #BeLikeBilly Fund. Funds raised at the tourney will go toward the installation of a new scoreboard at the girls softball field and repairs to the scoreboard at the boys softball field. Registration for the tournament will begin at 4 p.m. at Porters Cafe. Bags fly at 5:30 p.m. Food and raffles will be sold. On Sunday, Oct. 26 the club will host a haunted Halloween brunch at the Gold Canyon Golf Resort. The brunch will start at 10:30 a.m. in the Sunset Room of the Kokopelli Restaurant. Funds raised from the brunch will go toward the Miracle on Main St. Light Parade and Festival. Tickets are $25 per person and includes an all-you-can-eat brunch with carving station and omelet bar, tips and gratuities are also included in the ticket. The club has also scheduled the 11th annual Miracle on Main St. Light parade and festival. The club is encouraging all businesses and residents to get involved in the event by submitting a parade entry or donating items for the goody bags. Non-profit organizations are also invited to have food booths, proper permitting from Pinal County will be needed for food booths. The Superior Optimist Club is also working toward making significant improvements at the Besich Park and they will be taking donations for that.
