Superior Optimist Club

The Superior Optimist Club has several fun holiday events this month.  Everyone is invited to participate.

On Sunday, Oct. 16, at 1:30 p.m. there will be a Witches Shoe class.  Participants are asked to bring a pair of old pumps or heels that you would like to transform into a pair of Halloween Witches Shoes.  The class is being held in conjunction with local artist Marilee Lasch and Daystar Studios.  The class is $10 to attend plus your shoes.  The class will be held at Daystar Studios located at 200 N. Magma in Superior.  Please call Mila at 520-827-0676 or Marilee at 602-291-0550 to RSVP.

Once you make those shoes, make sure you RSVP for the annual Halloween Brunch at the Gold Canyon Golf Resort on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016.  Tickets are $25, the brunch begins at 10 a.m. and includes an all you can eat brunch with carving and omelet stations.  Prizes will be awarded to the best costume.  This year the Optimist Club will be conducting a toy drive for families in need during the holidays.  Those bringing toys will receive a special raffle ticket for special prizes.  There will also be raffle tickets sold.  Funds raised at the brunch help to fund holiday decorations for Besich Park in Superior and Miracle on Main St.

The Superior Optimist Club will be hosting a corn hole tournament to raise funds for the Besich Park Beautification project.  The tournament will be held on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016 at Felicia’s Ice Cream Shop patio.  Registration will begin at 1 p.m.  Bags fly at 2:30 p.m.  Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place.  Cost is $10 per person.

Pre-Registration is encouraged for each of these events.  Please call JoAnn Besich at 520-827-0592 or Jessica Castillo at 520-827-0098.

The 12th Annual Miracle on Main Street parade and holiday festivities will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016.  The theme this year is “It’s a Sweet, Sweet, Christmas, Superior.”  Parade entry registration will open soon.

The Superior Optimist Club meets the first and third Tuesdays of each month at Edwardo’s Pizza in Superior.
