Superior Little League to host District 4 baseball All Stars

Superior Little League will kick off the 2013 All-Star Season on Monday, Jun. 17 at 6 p.m. with the regular season closing ceremonies and all-star team announcements at the Little League field.

The 2013 Arizona District 4 All-Star tournament season begins Monday, Jun. 24 in Coolidge and Superior.

Baseball for 11- to 12-year-olds begins Jul. 1 and Junior baseball begins Jul. 9, both in Coolidge. Softball for 11- to 12-year-olds begins Jun. 24 and Senior softball begins July 8, also both in Coolidge.

Superior will be hosting the 9- and 10-year-old baseball tournament which is set for Jun. 24 to Jul. 3. Participating teams include Superior, Casa Grande, Coolidge, Florence, Mammoth, Maricopa, Oracle, San Manuel and Santa Cruz. It is a double elimination tournament with games scheduled at 6 and 8 p.m.

Concession workers, umpires, scorekeepers, announcers, field prep and clean-up crews will be needed. Those interested in volunteering can contact Martin Navarrette at 928-701-7451 or Armida Denogean at 480-215-3116.
