Five baseball and softball teams from Superior Little League are competing in All-Star tournaments which began on June30, 2014. Baseball and Softball teams in three divisions – 9/10, 11/12, and Senior – are playing in the tournaments for a chance to advance to the 2014 Arizona Little League Baseball and Softball State Tournaments.

The winning team of the state tournament advances to a regional tournament with a chance to play for a berth in the Little League World Series.

The tournaments are being played at Maricopa, Casa Grande, and Coolidge. All of the tournaments are double-elimination.

The 11/12 Division Baseball All-Stars started on July 1 with a loss to Santa Cruz, 10 – 0. Superior bounced back in its next game, defeating San Manuel/Mammoth, 6 – 4. With a record of 1 – 1 so far in the double-elimination tournament, Superior was scheduled to play Coolidge on July 7. Game results were not available at press time. With a win versus Coolidge, Superior would advance to play the winner between Santa Cruz and Florence on July 8.

The 9/10 Division Baseball All-Stars started on June 30 with a loss to Casa Grande, 23 – 0. Just like the 11/12 Division team, the 9/10 All-Stars bounced back in their next game, defeating Florence, 5 – 2. With a record of 1 – 1, Superior looked to avoid elimination versus San Manuel/Mammoth on July 7. Game results were not available at press time. With a win, Superior would advance to play the loser between Maricopa and Casa Grande on July 8.

The 9/10 Division Softball All-Stars were defeated by Casa Grande in their opening game on June 30, 30 – 0. They took on Coolidge on July 1 looking to avoid elimination but unfortunately dropped a heartbreaking game, 16 – 15.

Both Senior Division teams started their tournaments on July 8. The softball tournament is being played at Casa Grande. The Softball All-Stars took on Coolidge in their first game. The baseball tournament is being played at Coolidge. The Baseball All-Stars took on Maricopa in their first game. Game results were not available at press time.
