The Superior Library is the perfect place for children and families to become empowered to build a better world! This summer’s reading program theme makes use of the universal appeal of creating, repurposing, and building. Through books, games, and many STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) activities, participants will discover new ways of looking at the world around them. They will have the opportunity to challenge themselves, try new things, and work together to make a positive change in the world. Families will explore the many ways we encounter the world through the five senses and common experiences. Just as skyscrapers are built to great heights, one brick at a time, participants will find themselves reaching for the stars through hands-on learning experiences this summer.
The 2017 Summer Reading Program is open to young people, preschool through young adult, with programs, prize drawings, storytimes, reading activities, games, and more. Families are invited to join the READ-TO-ME portion of the program. The program starts on Wednesday, June 14. Preschool and Kindergarten will meet from 10-11 a.m. Grades one through three will meet from 1-2 p.m. and Grades four through six will meet from 2:30-3:30 p.m. on June 14, 21, and 28.
