Superior Junior Lady Panthers hitting hard at the net

The Superior Junior High Girls’ Volleyball team is having an exciting season.

Off with a solid start the seventh grade team defeated Ray. Although the eighth grade team lost. They showed potential, making Ray work for their victory.

In a turn around from the first game, the eighth grade team defeated Mt. Vista and the seventh grade team came up short.

Both teams came out ready to play against Hayden. Key player Marisa Estatico scored an astonishing 22 points for the Lady Panthers for a set win of 25-4. The Lady Panthers went on to secure the win in the second set. The eighth grade team came out and sealed the deal by defeating the Lady Lobos as well.

Both teams have been working hard and it shows in their 6 win-1 loss (eighth) and 4 win-3 loss (seventh) records. The ladies were ready for the last game of their season against Globe on Monday, Sept. 30. (Information on that game was unavailable at press time.) They hope to be qualified to compete in the Central Junior High League Tournament on Oct. 19 (time and venue TBD) to play for a championship.

Come out and support your Junior High Lady Panthers! Be prepared to see Alicia Arriola (eighth), Jalisa Murray (eighth), and Korinna Romero (seventh) rock the net. Cheer as defensive specialists Anisah Cardenas (seventh), Analysse Jaurez (eighth), and Angelina Vasquez (eighth) make game saving digs.
