FCCLA Win at State

The Superior High School Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) members recently traveled to Tucson to compete in the FCCLA state competitions. Students competed in various competitions from chapter service displays, job interview and other presentation competitions that promoted FCCLA or one of their community projects.

Bringing home gold medals and earning a place as a competitor at the national FCCLA competition in San Diego this Summer are Kassandra Baltierra, Allison Martinez, Edgar Pacheco, Steven Byrd, and Tatianna Babino.  National contenders earning silver medals are Eleanna Ybarra and Augie Hing.  Cassandra Drennan and Amber Alonzo also won silver medals for their competitions.  The students will travel to San Diego to compete against other FCCLA students from across the United States.

Terry Villaverde and Valarie Garcia are the advisors for the group with the assistance of Josie Diaz-Gonzalez.  The FCCLA program at Superior High School is part of the Career Technical Education programs that give students the opportunity to gain career skills during their high school years.
