Sue E. Varela

Sue E. Varela passed away Feb. 22, 2019 in Apache Junction. She was born Nov. 15, 1951 in Fostoria, Ohio to Robert and Patricia Finerd.

Sue moved to Tucson as a young girl. She spend most of her adult years in Findlay, Ohio before moving to Kearny for several years, and then to Apache Junction. She worked at Banner Hospital as a caregiver and a house cleaner.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, two great-grandchildren and two nephews.

She leaves behind her son, Tim Turner, in Apache Junction and a daughter, Tracie Hosley of Tucson; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Francisco of Kearny, Eloyce (George) Weisenbaugh of China, Mi, and Janice (Arnold) Bailey of Tucson; brother, Bob Finerd of Apache Junction; a large family; and, many friends.

She loved camping and working in her yard. She always had a smile and, in any situation, she could always make you laugh. Her motto, while battling cancer, was, “It can take my health, but, not my sense of humor.”

She will be missed very much.
