Students of the Month recognized by Rotary Club

During its annual Thanksgiving lunch late last month the Superior Rotary Club recognized the students of the month for October and November. The students are selected each month by their teachers. They are evaluated on their citizenship, involvement and positive attitudes in school.

This month the Superior Rotary recognized, Ramon Ramirez, Brandon Martinez, Jalisa Murrary, Caroline Wernett, Michael Lira, Fernando Bringas, Ann Frasier, and Ariel Alonzo.

Ariel Alonzo is a senior at Superior High School. She is the daughter of Michael and Virginia Alonzo. She is actively involved in many school activities including FCCLA and the National Honor Society. Ariel is also the vice president of the senior class. She is involved athletically as a member of the volleyball, basketball and softball teams at SHS. Although Ariel is a an avid ASU fan, she plans on attending the University of Arizona to become an OBGYN doctor

Fernando Bringas is a senior at Superior High School. His mother is Bertha Montano. After graduation Fernando would like to attend Arizona State University and become a diesel mechanic.

Ann Frasier is a senior at Superior High School. She is the daughter of Cathleen Frasier. Ann participates on the SHS Robotics Team. After high school she plans to carry on the family tradition and join the United States Army.

Michael Lira is a senior at Superior High School. His parents are Michael and April Lira. He is a member of the SHS National Honor Society. After high school he plans on attending Central Arizona College. He is undecided on a major at this time.

Brandon Martinez is a seventh grader at Superior Junior High. His parents are Alfredo and Elena Martinez. Brandon would like to become a pilot after high school

Jalisa Murray is an eighth grader at Superior Junior High. Her mom is Christina Gomez. Jalisa is a member of the National Junior Honor Society and plays volleyball, basketball and softball.

Ramon Ramirez is an eighth grader at Superior Junior High. His dad is Richard Ramirez. After high school Ramon would like to become a mechanic.

Caroline Wernett is a seventh grader at Superior Junior High. Her dad is Ramon Wernett. After high school Caroline would like to join the United States Air Force.

The Superior Rotary is the oldest service club operating in Superior. If you are interested in joining the Superior Rotary Club, they meet every Tuesday at Los Hermanos Restaurant in the Blue Room.
