Kearny – The Kearny Rotary Club presents a special Steak Dinner event, with Auction and Outdoor Concert as a fundraiser.

Come to the Kearny Inn, on Alden Road in Kearny, for a steak dinner, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.. The cost is a donation of $25 per person to support the Town of Kearny Pool Rebuilding project. At 7 p.m. the auction will start and continue until the band, Primo, begins to play at 8 p.m. The fun will continue until midnight.

The Kearny Rotary Club presents these special Steak Dinner Events to fund local groups. They serve hand cut USDA Choice New York Strip Steaks cooked to order on a mesquite wood grill, with beans, baked potato, Texas toast, salad fixings and iced tea or lemonade.

Primo was formed in the mid-80’s and has played all over Arizona and the Southwest over the last 30 years. The band has roots from Kearny, though all members now reside in the Phoenix area. The members take pride in playing all genres of music, including country, latin, blues and old rock ‘n’ roll favorites, so that they have a little something to offer for everyone’s listening and dancing enjoyment. The members of the band are Henry “Duke” Corral, David Corral, Steve Garcia, Billy Avelar, and Joey Corral.

The General Kearny Inn offers rooms at a rate between $65 and $78 per night, with reduced rates for longer stays. If you are looking for a place to hold your own event, they offer their courtyard for $500, for big events such as weddings and parties, or, at a rate based on how many people will attend, time of day and length of use. There are enough tables and chairs for 80 people plus extra serving tables for food set up. Contact Manager Samantha Misita at PO Box 188 301 Alden Road Kearny AZ 85137 or 520-363-5505.

If you are coming from Superior, the total distance to the General Kearny Inn is approximately 22 miles. Just head South on State Route 177, over the divide, and past the Ray Mine Overlook. You’ll see the Ray High School complex on your right. Slow down. The Town of Kearny has a fountain on the corner of State Route 177 and Tilbury Drive. Turn Right onto Tilbury Drive, and then make an immediate left onto Alden Road, before you get to the NAPA Auto Parts store. Continue down Alden and you’ll see the General Kearny Inn on your Right. Park on the street on Alden Road, or in the GKI parking lot.

For those coming from Oracle, San Manuel and Mammoth, the total distance from Oracle is about 42 miles. Head North on State Route 77 towards Globe. When you get to Winkelman, turn left onto State Route 177, which takes you into Winkelman and then into Hayden.
