The Superior Substance Abuse Coalition hosted the seventh annual drug and alcohol free Cinco de Mayo event at the Magma Club. The event included free entertainment by the youth performing groups Baile Folklorico Alma de Superior and Mariachi Ensueno from Tucson. All participants were able to participate in pinata breaks and rock walls. Los Hermanos restaurant catered a free traditional Mexican dinner. The highlight of the event was the crowning of the Cinco de Mayo King and Queen. Queen Terrace Flowers was escorted by the 2013 King Armando Sandoval. Jose Lira Jr. was selected as the 2014 King but was unable to attend the event due to a family emergency. Each year the event is supported by many local businesses and organizations.
