The sixth-ranked Ray baseball team dropped a sectional game to the fourth-ranked Miners last Friday, 12 – 8. The contest featured a matched up of two undefeated teams in Section VI.

The loss ended the ‘Cats three-game winning streak. Earlier in the week, they defeated Miami (AZ) and Pima.

Both the Miners and the Bearcats have state championship aspirations and this game provided both teams the opportunity to measure up against, what could be, their stiffest competition .

The teams will meet again on April 29, 2014, at San Manuel. That game is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.

Upcoming schedule: Apr. 10 vs. Duncan and Apr. 14 vs. Gilbert Classical Academy. Both games begin at 4:00 p.m.
