School Board Candidate Forum Set for Monday

The Superior Chamber of Commerce and the Superior Optimist Club will be hosting a candidate forum of the candidates running for Superior Unified School District board. The forum is scheduled for Monday, September 29, 2014 at 6:30pm. The forum will be held at the Superior Chamber of Commerce Office at 165 W. Main St.

Each candidate will be presented with a series of questions, if time allows the audience may submit questions to the moderator. The forum will be moderated by Hank Gutierrez.

There are two seats open for the Superior Unified School board, there are five candidates on the ballot for the two open seats. Yolanda Najera-Ewing, incumbent, along with Nathan Duarte, Ignacio “Max” Magallanez, Cathy Sommers, and John Tameron.

Voters in Superior will have the opportunity to vote for the school board election at the November 4th, 2014 primary election. Voters in the school district boundaries will also have the opportunity to vote on a school override election for Superior.
