San Manuel softball players Lyana Waddell and Angela Navarro received the 2016 United Dairymen of Arizona and Arizona Coaches Association High School All-American Softball Award during a ceremony on May 21.
The pair of Miners was among 23 players to receive the award, which recognizes outstanding seniors who maintain strong academic standards and community service along with their achievements in softball.
The UDA All-American Award is only the most recent accolade for Waddell, who committed to Western New Mexico University earlier this year, and Navarro after each earned several postseason honors, including All-Section, All-Division and All-State recognition by the AIA and azcentral sports.
