San Manuel’s Brewer named Coach of the Year

San Manuel head softball coach Deanne Brewer was named Coach of the Year by theArizona Daily Star. Brewer led the Miners to their second straight State Championship and ninth title overall.

Ace pitcher Lyana Waddell and infielder Alyssa Cuellar were selected as First Team All-Stars by the publication.

Felicia Medina, Angelica Zuniga, Ashley Vargas, and Mariah McBride were Honorable Mention selections.

San Manuel baseball players Shane Kelly, Anthony Garcia, Richard Romo, and Francisco Medina were Honorable Mention selections by theArizona Daily Star.

After a short return to Des Plaines in 1997, he returned to the Phoenix area two years later. He and his wife, Kelli, have three sons – AJ, Kyle, and Kade.
