San Manuel Elks to host Hoop Shoot

More than 2.5 million youth participate in the Elks National Hoop Shoot contest annually. This contest is open to boys and girls ages 8-13. Contestants age groups are determined by their age as of April 1, 2013.

This year’s contest will be held at the San Manuel Jr/Sr High School Gym on Dec. 15. Sign in will start at 8:30 a.m. Please bring your birth certificate.
Each contestant will have a chance to win awards. Winners from each category will advance to the District Competition, then to the State Competition, and then Las Vegas for the Regional Competition. Winners of the regional contest will travel to Springfield, Mass. for the Nationals.

After the state contest, expenses are paid for by the Elks for the contestants and their families. National winners will have their names inscribed in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
