, 72 of Winkelman, AZ passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at his home in Winkelman with his family by his side.
He was born on March 3, 1942, in Phoenix, AZ, the son of Manuel Apodaca and Anita Apodaca, and stepfather, Arnold Ortiz. Roger is survived by his wife, Angie, and their four children. Berdine Apodaca, Patrick (Annette) Apodaca, Monica Badillo, Bobby Apodaca, and four grandchildren, Austin, Kiara, Shiann and Raevynn, and many nieces and nephews.
Roger graduated from Hayden High School in 1960 and attended Northern Arizona University. He was employed by Asarco as a brick mason where he retired after 38 years of employment. He retired as the Fire Chief of the Winkelman Fire Department after 38 years of service.
He was preceded in death by grandson Philip Badillo, Jr., sister Olga Gonzales, brother Manuel Apodaca, brother Arnold Apodaca, father Manuel Apodaca, mother Anita Ortiz and stepfather Arnold Ortiz.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, April 4, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hayden, preceded by a Rosary at 9:30 a.m.
Services were entrusted to GRIFFITH MORTUARY, Kearny.
