Pinal County– Central Arizona College will offer GED classes to help students earn their General Educational Development (GED) diploma at several locations throughout Pinal County during the fall semester.

Beginning Thursday, Aug. 1, students may pre-register at any one of Central Arizona College’s nine locations with proof of legal presence in the United States.

GED classes will be divided into two eight-week periods and are currently provided at no cost for Arizona residents.

On Jan. 1, 2014, the GED exam will change to a computer-based test aligned with the Common Core Standards.

Anyone who started the tests under the current GED Series 2002 must complete and pass all five parts of the exam by Dec. 31, 2013, or they will be required to start over in January with the new test that is expected to be more expensive and complex.
