The Ray and Superior volleyball teams were two of 16 teams to qualify for the 1A Volleyball State Championship playoffs earlier this month.

No. 10-seed Ray reached the quarterfinals, where it was defeated by No. 2 North Phoenix Prep, 3 – 1.

The Lady Bearcats upset No. 7 Mayer in the first round, 3 – 1.

No. 14 Superior lost its first-round match to No. 3 St. David, 3 – 0.

  Congratulations to both teams.
