Ray softball ranked at number 12 in the division

Softball – The Bearcats softball team is ranked #12 in Division IV in the most recent rankings. It’s especially impressive when considering the Bearcats have eight freshmen on the team. The Bearcats started play in the Salt River Tournament with three consecutive victories over Desert Christian, Bagdad, and Valley Lutheran. They won by scores of 7 – 4, 23 – 3, and 11 – 2 respectively. Savannah Willis was the player of the game vs. Desert Christian as she went 2-2, scored a run, and had an RBI in the game. Lucy Sainz was the player of the game vs. Bagdad with four hits and four RBI. Stormee Galka was 3-4 with 2 doubles, a triple, and three RBI in the game vs. Valley Lutheran. The Bearcats next game is in the tournament on March 23, 2013, before returning home on Mar. 25 to take on Hayden.

Baseball – The Bearcats started play in the Salt River Tournament on March 21, 2013, by winning their first two games versus Northland Prep Academy and Valley Lutheran by scores of 7 – 4 and 18 – 6 respectively. They suffered their first loss in the tournament against Scottsdale Prep Academy, 12 – 7. The Bearcats continue tournament play on Saturday, Mar. 23 before returning home on Mar. 25 to play Hayden. The Bearcats are 6 – 5 on the year so far and ranked #11 in Division IV.
