Kearny, AZ – In the United States, Science Fairs became popular in the 1950s and interest in them has grown as technology has become more a part of our daily lives. Over the years, we have seen many advances in science, both fact and theory, that have brought us from reading about a fantastical, far distant future to a real present where machines are utilized as labor saving devices and people have access to the far corners of the world through computers.

Ray Junior High will be hosting a Science Fair on Thursday, May 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a short break from noon to 12:30 p.m. for lunch. Formal presentations will be scheduled to be presented throughout the day, as well as some students holding informal presentations for those visiting their exhibits.

Exhibits will be open during the meal break, and some students may be available for informal presentation during this time.

A variety of science topics that will be presented during the day. Mr. Rubalcaba, the Junior High Science instructor, will be in attendance to answer questions concerning the Ray Junior High Science program and about the science fair.

All parents of the Junior High students, as well as the public, are invited to come to the fair, which will be held in the Ray Junior High Gym, to share in community spirit and witness what adventures our nation’s possible future scientists are embarking upon.
