Ray Jr. High Bearcats win three at Mt. Vista

The Ray Junior High Bearcats traveled to Mountain Vista School last Thursday and came away with three victories. The Lady Bearcats seventh graders opened up the evening winning easily by a score of 31 – 3. Claire Cude led all scorers with 10 points while Savannah Rodriguez added six.

In the eighth grade girls contest, the Mt. Vista Lady Cougars held the Bearcats scoreless in the first quarter. The Lady Bearcats did not score until there was only seven seconds on the clock before half time.

By then, Mt. Vista had built up a comfortable lead and held on to win 14 – 8. Millie Mercer and Devin Cruz both scored four points for the winning Cougars.

Cole Yocum scored 19 points and Bobby Meza added 12 to lead the seventh grade Bearcats to a 37 – 15 victory. Jose Michiel and Ichiro Ramos scored six points each for Mt. Vista.

In the final game of the evening, the Bearcats led by Jordan Pace’s 16 points defeated Mt. Vista 34 – 24. The high scorer for Mt. Vista was Vince Vindiola with 12 points.
