On a night when weather delays and postponed games were common across the state, Ray’s game versus visiting Mogollon was moved to Saturday last week.
The change didn’t have a positive effect on the Bearcats, who suffered a lopsided 68 – 16 defeat against the Mustangs.
“We were flat in all phases of the game,” Ray assistant coach Jimmy Fessenden told Copper Basin News. “We need to play with intensity. We forgot to bring that to the game.”

The Mustangs totaled more than 500 yards of total offense, including 380 yards rushing.
The Cats hit the road for the first time this season when they visit Phoenix Day School for the Deaf this Friday.
“We need to play with heart on Friday if we hope to win,” Fessenden said. “I have no doubt we will bounce back from the Mogollon loss. This was a speed bump not a roadblock.”
Friday’s kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
