The award winning documentary, Power’s War, was shown at the Mt. Vista School cafeteria on Friday, Sept. 11, 2015. The audience, estimated at 250 plus, enjoyed the film about the deadliest shootout in Arizona history.

The film explored the many theories of the incident as to what happened. It brought the historical times of the World War I era to life and showed how the intense patriotism, culture and attitudes of the times played into the story. Director Cameron Trejo did a remarkable job in making the film. It is highly recommended.

Although Cameron was unable to make the show as his plane arrived late in Phoenix from London, Barbara Brooks Wolfe author of the book, Power, Passion and Prejudice: Shootout in the Galiuro Mountains, was able to answer questions from the audience. Barbara sold a good number of her books which she autographed at the event.

Power’s War was presented to the community by the Oracle Historical Society and the Oracle School District. The Oracle Historical Society Governing Board would like to thank the District, Superintendent Dennis Blauser, Principal Nanette Soule, the Mt. Vista National Junior Honor Society, Terry McGovern and Ron Small for making this event a success.
