SAN MANUEL, Ariz. – Make plans Nov. 10, to dine and dance at the San Manuel Elks Lodge, in a night of entertainment combined with community spirit, at the Pink Ribbon Benefit Dinner and Dance benefiting Christal and Mason Saunders. Attendees are encouraged to wear pink.

Christal Saunders is a resident of San Manuel. She is a single mother of three-year-old Mason Saunders, and the primary caregiver for her grandmother.

Saunders was diagnosed with breast cancer in March and informed that she would need to undergo intensive surgery to remove the cancer as it had found its way to both breasts. Following surgery, she began several rounds of chemotherapy at the Arizona Oncology Center in Tucson. She is now in the final stage of chemotherapy, to be followed up by five weeks of radiation treatments.

The radiation treatments will require her to travel to and from Tucson, Mon. through Fri. each week. All funds raised will help Saunders with the day-to-day expenses, as well as her increasing medical and travel costs.

Upon successful completion of her treatments, Saunders hopes to return to her security job in Tucson, as well as resume college courses, which she had to put on hold, after being diagnosed, due to the severity of the treatments.

Dinner begins at 5 p.m. until sold out, and may be ordered to dine in or eat out. Dancing begins at 7 p.m., with Haywire and Up the Creek providing the melodies.

In addition to the dinner and dancing, there will be a raffle featuring multiple items, including a 30-inch Vizio television, Pampered Chef products, Avon products, household decorative items, holiday items, toys both large and small and gift cards.

The cost is $8 per plate. Dinner and raffle tickets may be purchased on the night of the event, or in advance by contacting Christine Eaves at 520-419-0429, Jamie Myers at 520-705-7135, Angie and Aaron Woods at 520-820-3312 or 520-820-6333. Monetary donations or raffle items are also being accepted.
