Pinal County seeking local opinion on Oracle Park redesign

A drone hovers over the Oracle Park.

Do you want to have a say in the Oracle Park redesign? Do you have an idea that you could want implemented? The Tri-Community can now voice their comments, ideas and concerns about the Oracle Park on Nuestro online.

In January, several members of Oracle came together to write down what they liked and didn’t like about the Oracle Park redesign plans that University of Arizona Architecture student Michael Cimino and his class drew up. Those comments were all put together and now Oracle Park is one step closer to a master plan.

Kent Taylor, Director of the Open Space and Trails Department for Arizona said the public comments that they receive through the website will go into the concept plan.

“We’re going to take those comments and work those into the concept plan to develop  the final master plan,” Taylor said.

Taylor said that the project is going along at the rate they thought it would be.

“We’re on the schedule that we kind of determined when we first reached out to U of A,” Taylor said.

Mary Ellen Kazda, a resident of Oracle and someone who has been to all the meetings for the park, thinks it’s very important for more families to voice their opinions and concerns for the park.

“I’ve been telling people what the plan looks like and they think it’s looks good and they do have some questions and concerns,” she said.

Kaz said that getting the word out to families and getting them to voice their opinions is “critical.”

Comments are being taken into consideration until April 21. The website will be asking for email and other info, but that information will not be given out.

The website for public comments can be reached here: http://bit.ly/2pnzfH2.
