Pete Tovar passed in peace Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016 at the age of 90 in his home.
He was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and was surrounded by his children, brothers, sisters and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Tovar; daughter and son-in-law Lorraine and David Strode; parents and two siblings.
He leaves behind children, Clara (Tovar) Tony Dominguez, Pat (Tovar) Art Renteria, Richard Tovar and Maria Bunela (spouse), Terry Tovar, Christina (Tovar) Pablo Medina, Paul Tovar and Rachael Gomez (spouse); 22 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Pete was the son of Blas and Nelly Tovar and had eight siblings, which 2 are deceased. Pete was born in Santa Rita, New Mexico on Nov. 24, 1925.
Pete will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by family and friends; Lodge and Club members. Pete was a proud patriot of the US Navy and Veteran Wars.
Services were held Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016 at St. Bartholomew’s Parish Church in San Manuel. Interment will take place at a later date.
