, born Nov. 18, 1946 in Manchester, NH, passed away May 12, 2015 from an aggressive form of lung cancer.
Paul met his wife of 45 years, Roberta Jean Haynes, while serving in the Air Force as a Jet Engine Mechanic. Paul worked at Magma Copper Co. for 30 years as an Electrical Project Supervisor in the Smelter overseeing some of the most complex projects and plant upgrades. When the mines closed under BHP he went to work out-of-state for LaFarge and retired in 2011.
He and Roberta recently moved back to San Manuel from South Carolina where Paul enjoyed retirement, his grandkids, working on his Man Cave and sitting in his backyard with a view of the Galiuro Mountains.
He was a loving family man and is survived by his wife, Roberta; daughters, Judith Champ (Mike) and Michelle Dionne (Marty); son, Stephen Dionne (Georgette); eight loving grandchildren, Jesus Carlos (23), Seth (18), George (16), Juanita (12), Destiny (11), Alyiah (10), Julian (7) and Stephen Paul (5). He is also survived by sisters, Peggy Silakos (Paul), Cecile Desrochers (John) and Monique Lawrence (Dave); brother, Edouard Dionne (Claire); his aunt Sister Germaine Richer, all of New Hampshire; sisters-in-law, Patricia Cutrone (Frank) of Tennessee and Debra Peraza (Fred) of San Manuel; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and Godchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Helen Dionne.
Paul was a friend to all and he will be remembered for his desire to make everyone laugh and willingness to help anyone in need.
Services celebrating Paul’s life will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in San Manuel, AZ. The rosary is at 10 a.m. and the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. with a celebration of his life immediately following.
