Pastor’s Corner – Victory in Jesus

In the first chapter of Jonah we read, “The Word of the Lord came to Jonah, but Jonah ran away.”  Chapter three tells us, “Then the Word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time, and Jonah obeyed the Word of the Lord.”

Our God is the God of second chances; and third, and fourth, and fifth, etc.  The Scriptures tell us that He is not willing that any should perish, but that all will come to salvation.  God cares about each and every one of us.

King David, in writing the Psalms, voiced his concerns in those times when he was disobedient to God.  He also rejoiced in God’s goodness and forgiveness.  Even though he messed up his life at times, God loved him and forgave him.

In order for us to live in obedience to God, He keeps giving us another chance to get it right.  When we stop the rebellious attitudes, we will be able to change our way of thinking and begin to cooperate with our Lord.

When we walk with the Lord, our life becomes so much easier and we will win many more times than we lose.  It’s called “victory in Jesus.”  If you haven’t been there, it is past time to begin walking in the Lord’s blessings.  Talk to Him today and obey Him and His Holy Word, the Bible.  You will see and feel and experience the difference in your life.
