Pastor’s Corner – Refreshing the Spirit

In the Gospel of Mark, we read several times of Jesus going off into a lonely place to pray.  We also find that He would often take His disciples to an out of the way place, only to find that the crowd had followed Him there.  One time He went to the beach, only to be followed by such a large crowd, that He had to get into a boat to be safe.

The Garden of Gethsemane was a regular place of prayer for Jesus and His disciples.  That made it easy for Judas to lead the soldiers there to Jesus.  He knew exactly when and where to find Him.

Why did Jesus have to take a break and get away from everybody?  He stated that He only did and said what Father God told Him to say and do.  He used these times to refresh Himself and receive the current assignment from Jehovah God.

That is a good lesson for us. We should have regular times for refreshing our spirit and reconnecting with the Lord.  Life can be tough on us at times, so we need that ability to recharge in our spirit and renew our outlook, so that we can move forward in a positive manner.  May the Lord refresh you and multiply His grace upon you.
