Pastor’s Corner: Pray for the Peace and Prosperity of Superior

Life is not always easy or comfortable.  Sometimes that happens because of the choices that we make.  All  choices that we make affect us one way or another, either good or bad.

Paul, in his first letter to Timothy, says in 2:2 – “pray for those in authority, that you may live peaceful lives in all godliness and holiness.”  In Jeremiah 29:7 we read these words, “Seek the peace and prosperity of the city where you live.  Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”

If we desire our town to prosper, so that more people will have jobs, we need to pray.  The Jeremiah passage begins earlier with these words:  ‘This is what the Almighty, the God of Israel says -.’  It is a word from God saying we need to do this.

God can turn anything around, if we would only pray over it; and not just once, but until we see breakthrough and victory.  Many have read God’s command to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.  How many of us have read His command to pray for the peace and prosperity of Superior?

Let us as a community, stand together and ask the Lord for His blessings over us.  From the heart, pray regularly for His provision of abundant jobs, finances and favor.  He has spoken before:  “I will hear from heaven and answer your prayers!”
