Pastor’s Corner – Have Faith

Titus 1:1 & 2 tells us – “The faith of God’s elect and the knowledge of the truth leads to Godliness – that faith and knowledge rests on the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time.”

Our Godliness is based upon a promise God made thousands of years ago; that we can have eternal life.  It depends on something that we must do as believers.

First, we must hear and receive God’s Holy Word.  Romans 10:17 tells us that as we receive the message of the Scriptures, we will then grow in our faith, and that will bring us to Godliness.

It will not happen by accident.  We must be determined to know the truth of God, which He wrote down for us in a book we call the Bible.  2 Timothy 3:16 – “All Scripture is God breathed and useful for training in Godliness and truth.”  In 1 Timothy 4:7 we read – “Train yourself to be Godly.”

We must read and study the Scriptures, filling our hearts and minds with its truth.  As we trust and believe what we learn, we will live Godly lives and reap the reward of eternal life in Heaven with our Lord.  Life is not temporary, it will last forever.  The choices we make while here on earth, determine if that forever life is lived in the torment of hell or the joy of Heaven.  Choose life with Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
