Parent arrested after holiday concert at SUSD

Superior Unified School District officials were forced to call the Superior Police Department after two parents got into a physical altercation during the annual John F. Kennedy Elementary School holiday concert.

Crystal Carrasco was arrested, charged and released on criminal damages. Carrasco damaged the cell phone of Renee Wheeler who was the other party involved in the incident.Wheeler did not press assault charges on Carrasco.The exact cause of the confrontation was not provided.

The incident occurred in front of the elementary students performing as well as parents and family attending the event. No other students or guest were harmed in the incident.

Superintendant Pete Guzman explained that a letter has been sent to both parents. “Due to their actions which involved violence both parents will be banned from school activities for the rest of the year.”
