The Superior baseball team extended its winning streak to nine games after defeating Fort Thomas, Baboquivari and Hayden last week.
On the strength of the streak and a 12 – 2 overall record the Panthers are the No. 2-ranked baseball team in the 1A rankings, according to AZPreps365.com.
Sophomore Steven Ybarra tossed a ho-hitter against the Lobos in a 10 – 0 victory last Friday, whiffing 11 in the dominant, 84-pitch outing.
Edgar Galindo had a pair of this and drove in the runs to lead the Panthers’ offensive attack. Steven Denogean had three hits, including a double, while Austin Navarrette had a pair of hits and an RBI.
