I am writing in reference to some very inaccurate attack mailers going out against Joe Ortiz.
Starting with the charge under the flawed Arizona Domestic Violence Law, Ortiz was arrested, but for fighting with his step-father in defense of his mother. A phone investigation by the CGPD resulted in Ortiz being arrested because there was collusion between Joe Ortiz’s step-father and step-brother at the time. When Ortiz finally had his day in court, the charges were completely dismissed by the CG City Attorney.
As far as the charge, giving alcohol to minors ‘twice’.that’s either a deplorable smear tactic or they don’t know how to read. It NEVER happened! Judging by the case number they were referring to, ORTIZ, himself, was charged with underage drinking ‘once’ when he was 18 just before he left for the Air Force. And finally the misdemeanor that he plead guilty to almost eight years ago; if you read the police report and witness statements it’s obvious that Ortiz was defending himself and trying to avoid the situation, but at that time two people very close to him passed away, so good or bad, it was easier to just pay the fine instead.
Whether you vote for him or not is irrelevant at this point, the truth needs to be told.JOE ORTIZ is a good Christian man, great husband, father and provider for his family. He unselfishly served his country and continues to serve his community. I know, because I married him almost 10 years ago.
