Oralia Sandoval Self

  Oralia Sandoval Self, known as Lala,  was born in Hayden on Nov. 18, 1929 to Felix and Jesus Sandoval. She grew up in San Pedro. She graduated from Hayden High School in 1949. In 1951, she married the love of her life, Orbin Self and moved to El Segundo, California. They were married for 62 years. 

  Oralia died on Aug. 17, 2018 in Torrance, California.

  She is survived by her daughters, Olivia Reissig and Oralyn Guerrero Ortiz, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her siblings, Alfredo, Ralph (Mary Rose), Fernando, Randy (Mary Lou), sisters Hortencia Sanchez, Mary Castillo and her big sister, Betty Bartlett.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Orbin, son Gil, parents Felix and Jesus Sandoval, siblings, Frank, Enedina and Carmen.

  Her memorial service will be held on Nov. 17, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hayden. Rosary will be at 9:30 a.m., Mass at 10 a.m., followed by interment at Mountain View Cemetery. Luncheon will follow at the Hayden Club House at the golf course.
