Oracle – The votes are all in from the judges and one vehicle came out on top with a Best of Show win from the 27th annual Oracle Spring Run Car Show held this past weekend in Oracle.
Phil Camp and his 1959 Chevy Bel-Air were crowned as the top winner at the car show. Phil drove his beautiful car down from Roosevelt to participate in this car show, only his second. He and his wife Julie (Burns) are originally from San Manuel and both graduated from San Manuel High School. Phil said he will definitely be back next year.
But Phil wasn’t the only one to receive an award Saturday.

For Trucks 1951 and older: Linda Beach of Tucson and Joe Gangz of Tucson; 1952 – 1956: Dean Cotler of Tucson and Vim Thompson of Wilcox; 1957 and Newer: Ken Kempton of Tucson and Don Fike of Casa Grande.
For Muscle Cars, 1967 and older: A.J. Berner of Tucson and Rick Blanchard of San Tan Valley; 1968 – 1970: Augustin Aranda of Glendale and Allen Showalter of Tucson; 1971 and newer: Tom Meyers of Tucson and Walt Cowell of Casa Grande.
For Originals 1956 and older: Alfredo Montano of Tucson and Lauia Miraanto of Tucson; 1957 – 1965: Philip Camp-Roosevelt and James Barrett of Payson; 1966 – 1969: Cheryl Myers of Tucson and Abe Fraijo of Tucson; 1970 – 2007: Lee Darrel of Tucson and Peg DeFazio of Cave Creek.
The poker walk winner was Ken Kempton, who, on top of all his other awards for the day, walked away with $67. The winner of the 50/50 won $140.
