Oracle Piano Quartet

The Oracle Piano Quartet was made up of Stephen Cook, piano; Patricia Cole, violin; Allyson Wuenschel, viola: and Luciana Gallo, cello. The Oracle Piano Society continues to bring talented musicians and entertaining music to Oracle.

Concerts that will be coming up at the Oracle Center for the Arts include a solo piano recital by 19 year old Cameron Williams. Cameron is talented pianist and the grandson of Oracle residents Julie Szeleky and Quentin Branch. Cameron will be performing the works of Bach, Beethoven, Schuman and Bartok on Saturday, May 12, at 4 p.m.

The Professor and a bust of PDQ Bach

On Sunday, May 20 at 3 p.m., the Voices in the Oaks will be performing Oedipus Tex by composer PDQ Bach, AKA Professor Peter Schickele. Oedipus is the musical parody of the Greek tragedy Oedipus Rex performed as a western oratorio. It tells the story of the adventures of the cowboy hero Oedipus, his love of the queen of the rodeo, Billie Joe Casta, the shepherdess and part time fortune teller Madame Peep. Oedipus Tex was released as an album in 1990 as Oedipus Tex and Other Choral Calamities. It won the Grammy Award for ‘Best Comedy Performance’.

The Professor takes a knockout punch.

The Voices in the Oaks Chorale is a community based choral group based in Oracle, Arizona and welcomes any singers from the surrounding areas to join. They will perform a set of classic American Folk Love songs to open the concert.
