The Mountain Vista Lady Cougars eighth grade team traveled to San Carlos last week to play in the Central Junior High League Basketball Tournament.

The Cougars, led by Millie Mercer’s 14 points and Nikki Baldenegro’s seven points, beat Hayden 29 – 16 in the semifinal game. The #2 seeded Cougars then played the #1 seeded San Carlos Braves for the championship. The undefeated Braves were just too much for the Lady Cougars as they lost 40 -13.

Congratulations to the eighth grade Lady Cougars for a fine season.

The Mt. Vista eighth grade boys entered the tournament as the #6 seed. They lost in the first round to the Superior Panthers.

Mountain Vista baseball, softball and track teams will begin getting ready for the season which will begin at the end of the month.
