Virginia was an incredible teacher for many years. She began her teaching career in Hayden, Arizona and shortly transferred to Kearny, Arizona. She taught many years at Ray School where she touched so many lives. Virginia, “Miss Ochoa” is what she was known as to many adults and children of who she taught. She enjoyed being in her classroom and teaching her junior high students. She loved all sports, but most of all she loved the Los Angeles Dodgers. She would travel near and far to see them during Spring Training and the regular season. Virginia spent most of her life visiting family/friends and exploring the world. Her love for traveling took her all over the world many times over.
What she treasured most in life was her family, her friends, and her students. Above all, she valued the relationships she had with each and every person that was a part of her life. More than anything else, she loved being a sister, an aunt, and a god mother. She reveled in her family’s love and cherished her time watching it grow. When diagnosed with cancer, she remained dedicated to her family and friends in her will to fight her illness. She remained a brave, iron-willed woman, even throughout her final days.
Services for Virginia will be held Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Good Shepard, 509 Danbury Road in Kearny, Arizona. There will be a small reception following the service.
